Conserving Chesapeake Forests
In 2006 a report by The Conservation Fund and the USDA Forest Service found that the forests of the Chesapeake Bay watershed are disappearing at a rate of over 100 acres each day.

Forests play a critical role in protecting the health of the Bay. The Institute is working with the EPA and a group of Chesapeake states (District of Columbia, New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia) to develop policies that will conserve the forests of the Bay watershed.
